These shapes are found in more traditional metal tubing. Fabric ductwork does not consist of a well defined shape. The location determines whether rigid or flexible tubing are needed in your home. Room ducts branch off a main tube connected to the system. These may go into the floor, ceiling, or walls. Tube sizing can be determined by the amount of air needed to be supplied and the number of registers in the room. If ductwork is installed correctly, it can provide maximum cooling at an efficiency cost you can afford. Air ducts can be made from aluminum, plastic, or fabric. They are insulated with glass wool which is typically made of fiberglass materials. This insulation may also be blended with polyester fiber.
